How to Backup and Restore Drivers on Windows 7/8 – Driver Backup Software

This is a very common problem for all who are using computer/laptop. Because of some reasons we would have to format our window, install it to again on that system. But main problem is How to Backup and Restore Drivers on Windows, because most of the drivers are very common and necessary to use so we would have to get it on our system back. And when we plan to start installation of those drivers again on our system many problems arising such as-
1-  Most of the windows users doesn’t have drivers all the time

2- We may have windows installation disk but most of the people don’t have drivers( CD/DVD)
3- Now a days most of the laptop manufacturing companies doesn’t provide drivers installation kit and they simply give the website address.
4- If you have an old system, and do not have a CD, or cannot get drivers from the hardware manufacturer’s site.
 So to overcome with these problems, it would be a good idea to backup all the installed drivers on the system. Or, even if you have the CD, or the drivers, I will still recommend backing up the drivers, and storing them at a safe place, just in case. It’s always better to be on the safe side. There are many useful driver backup software like Double Driver, SlimDrivers, DriverMax and DriverBackup! etc. I’ll explain you one deeply.
Note one remarkable thing, Please use more than one software for backing up drivers. So that if one program is not successful in restoring them or is unable to restore some of the drivers, the other ones may work correctly.

Backup and Restore Drivers on Windows 7/8:

As I told you there are many useful tool for backup and restore drivers like Double Driver, SlimDrivers, DriverMax and DriverBackup! etc. In this article I’ll explain you How to Backup and Restore Drivers on Windows 7/8 using Double Driver.

Backup Drivers Using Double Driver:

 Double Driver is simple, very reliable, has some good features, making it the top choice in the category. It can backup drivers from an offline system too.

1. First of all you need to download the software from below link.
   Download Double Driver
2. After downloading tool you will extract to a folder, navigate to that folder and click on “dd” application to start the application.3. Now click on “backup” button and select “scan current system” to get all installed drivers on your PC.

4.  Now Click on select button on top of the application window and choose your important drivers or “select all” from drop down menu.

5. Click on “Backup Now” button.

6.  It prompts a dialogue box which asks you to choose backup location in the destination section, just choose your folder location to save your backup.

7. It takes some time to backup all drivers, once the process will be completed it shows a dialogue box of completion.

Restoring Drivers Using Double Driver:

For restoring process read below instructions-

1. Click on “Restore” button it will asks you to run this application with administrative privileges. Simply click on yes button to start application again in administration mode.

2. Now again click on “restore” button and select “locate backup”.

3.  Select “default location” and choose the available driver backup from the list. You may change your location if need.

4. Now it list out all drivers which are taken backup. To restore all drivers click on “Restore Now” button.

That’s it, you’ve successfully completed both backup and restoring windows PC drivers without any problem. Double Driver has the option to save the list of drivers in a text file. Option to print the list is also there. This feature is quite useful, to see which drivers have been installed on the system. The list is quite informational, providing name, version number, date, hardware ID etc.

Similarly, you can use another software for the Backup and Restore Drivers on Computer/Laptop.
