How to Check if someone is stealing your Wi-FI?

How to Detect if Someone is Stealing Your Wi-FI

This method is the simplest method ever I used. For getting all the devices list that are connected with your WiFi, just follow the simple method

Step 1. Log in to your router by typing router’s IP address directly into your browser address bar. It may be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or it may be written on router itself. If still you are unable to get that just contact your internet service provider, they will provide you details.

One another method to know your default gateway is that open Command prompt by typing cmd in the search box in Start Menu. A small pop up will appear, here just type ipconfig and hit enter. Here you will get the IP address of default gateway just copy it and paste it into your browser’s address bar.

Step 2. It will ask you to enter your credentials so enter your login id and press enter, If you havn’t remembered that just check your router’s documentation itself unless changed by you.
Step 3. In the “Status” tab you will find the list of devices which are connected to your Router. You may get it under Lan Computers or Current Connected Wireless Clients. It depends upon the firmware of your Router. In General, it is a list with device names, Mac addresses and IP addresses.

How to Secure Your Wi-Fi Router

Below are some basic settings by following those you may secure your internet connection.
1- Change your router’s default password by following the above.

2- You must enable Network Encryption methods for wireless settings like WPA (WPA-Personal) or WPA2. You can use WEP but it’s not much secure.

3- Hide your SSD name or just change it to the difficult SSID name.
4- Use MAC filtering rather than IP filtering because IP can change easily by refreshing the connections.

Hope you are feeling some fresh internet speed. So this was the basic tips to know how to detect if someone is stealing your Wi-Fi and how to secure your Wi-Fi.
