Apart from these tools, you need to manually do extensive research on the hashtags that are trending and hashtags of the accounts that are on top. It is important to experiment and find out what works for you. Create as many new hashtags as possible and see if they work well. If your hashtag is good, it will give you good engagements and likes. With some experimentation, you will get a fair idea of the hashtags that work best – save these and use them along with more new hashtags that you create along the way.

There is another way to achieve the increased post engagements – tags on photos. This means whenever you are posting a photo, tag the relevant big accounts on your photo so that whoever is following those accounts can see your photo too in their feed.

Tagging relevant accounts is a great way to achieve higher engagements of posts. Tags are different from hashtags. If you tag your posts with big accounts with similar interests or niche, more people are likely to see your posts. For example, if you are posting about a recipe for a food item, you may want to tag some big restaurants which serve this food item. Big accounts will have a huge following and its easier for you to get more audience from them. It is good for them also in the way that you are promoting their products and services. This will also put you in Instagram’s good books of content relevancy. Tagging a post increases the chances of the post appearing on the explore page of the followers of the tagged accounts, thereby increasing the visibility and possibly engagements of your post.
