WordPress or Blogger – Which one is Better?

If you are thinking to start a blog on Blogger or WordPress then you will find, it is very tough to decide which platform is better to start a blog. If you ask for a suggestion of 100 Bloggers on which platform to use “WordPress or Blogger” then the chances are high that 90 of them will blindly say WordPress. After that you will definitely go with WordPress, but there are some hidden facts that you should know before you deciding your platform. Today, i am going to discuss those facts which are necessary to know you, if you are deciding it on the feedback basis only.

1- Template Customization

Blogger :  Free layout and style sheet customization.
WordPress :  No style sheet customization. Payment services only.
Winner :  Blogger

2- Tutorials and Help

Blogger : Many tutorials on Blogger tricks
WordPress : Hardly some.
Winner : Blogger


3- Un-Official Themes

Blogger : Innumerable Designers Creating Free Templates each day and you can get it easily.
WordPress : Only few designers offer free templates having some restrictions.
Winner : Blogger

4- Coding

Blogger : Uses user friendly scripting and coding like- HTML, XML and CSS
WordPress : It uses some advanced scripting and coding like php , only few people can understand it.
Winner : Blogger

5- Default Templates

Blogger : Unprofessional and Limited collection
WordPress : Many high quality templates are available.
Winner : WordPress

6- Template or Theme Replacement

Blogger : Can be replaced easily.
WordPress : Not allowed.
Winner : Blogger

7- Comments

Blogger : Comment editing not allowed. No Spam protection. No user friendly comment.
WordPress : Comments can be edited easily, user friendly.
Winner : WordPress

8- SEO Optimization

Blogger : Owned by Google itself, manual optimization.
WordPress : By third party, very easy to optimize.
Winner : Both

9- Blog Import

Blogger : Only from one blogspot to another one.
WordPress : Can imported from another platform like- WordPress, blogger or LiveJournal etc.
Winner : WordPress

10- Post Feed On Mobile Phones

Blogger : Supported
WordPress : Not Supported
Winner : Blogger

11- Image storage limit and File type

Blogger : One GB with Picasa Web album
WordPress : 3 GB and more space can be gained by upgrading.also support .ppt, .doc, .pdf
Winner : WordPress

Some other most important and necessary things are-
1- Google does not consider meta-tags and keywords.
2- Another point is Blogger owned by Google makes things easier to support the blogger blogs.
As there are many more changes to come in future, you will be safe if you are within Google’s backyard.

One remarkable thing is that, there are tons of Blogger Blogs ranking in the top page in Google for various keywords, but you won’t see too many WordPress.com blogs ranking high. So this was all from my side about Which One is Better WordPress or Blogger.
